Abstract
Entertainment is a key activity for preschool children; "children learn while playing, and play while learning". Thus, games are always useful means that kindergarten teachers often use to help kids meet the needs to learn and perceive the world around them. Folk games not only enable them to become familiar with their surroundings, develop their physical strength, enhance their health, awareness and interaction with the community but are also a useful tool to help children generally and 5 – 6 year old ones particularly form numerical symbols. This is an important premise to prepare children for learning math in primary school. This paper shows an in - depth study on how to use folk games to give Kindergarten teachers an idea of collecting folk games from the sources in real life. Accordingly, they have the facility to organise useful fun activities for children in general and help their 5 – 6 year old kids shape numerical symbols in particular, which contributes to improving the quality of education at nursery school today.
