MEASURES OF EMOTION CONTROL SKILLS TRAINING FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

Emotional control is one of the most important skills in shaping and developing personality. At secondary school age, there are psychological changes leading to certain difficulties in controlling emotions. Having good emotional control skills will help student succeed in learning and life. The emotional control skill of the student is the application of knowledge and experience to the identification and understanding of the emotions of oneself and others, expressing the emotion of the self in the situations, not to needs, wants, circumstances, or other people. The survey was conducted on 322 students from grade 6 to 9, 32 parents and 25 teachers from Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School in Da Nang City. The main methods were questionnaire survey, experiment and mathematical statistical methods. The results show that emotional control skills of secondary school students are at average level (73.3%). Based on the rationale and the results of the current situation, we have developed and implemented a training program of emotional control skills for secondary school students help students raise awareness and control their emotion and maintain positive relationship with friends, teachers, and other people.
