SOCIAL SKILLS OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN DA NANG CITY

Abstract

Human is a social entity, a member of a community and a certain society. Therefore, social adaptation skills are important and necessary for each person/ every individual. In particular, there are strong physical and psychological changes in puberty, so secondary school students need to be trained in social skills. This study was conducted on 280 secondary school students in Da Nang city, using multiple choice questions (main method) to assess the status of social skills and the factors affecting those skills. The results show that social skills of secondary school students are ranked on the average, focusing on the following four basic skills: Cooperation, assertion, empathy and self-control. We proposes measures to improve social skills for secondary school students in the direction of focusing on training component skills in the study program, and needing active coordination of the family at the same time.
