DIRECT INVESTMENT OF TAIWAN IN VIET NAM: ACHIEVEMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS

Abstract

Taiwan is one of the early and big foreign direct investors (FDI) in Viet Nam. After investing directly in Vietnam for more than two decades (1990 – 2010), Taiwan has recorded great achievements in various fields with its own characteristics which have important implications for both Taiwan and Vietnam

In this article, we focus on analyzing the achievements, factors creating these achievements and characteristics of FDI in Vietnam by Taiwan for over 20 years. Accordingly, some necessary solutions are drawn to promote further investments from Taiwan and attract FDI to Vietnam sustainably.
