THE PREWORD (SAPO) IN THE INTERVIEW WORK IN DANANG NEWSPAPER

Abstract

Interview article is a conversation between a journalist and an interviewee about an event, current affairs or a person of public interest. Among the interviewing elements such as subject, interviewee, question, answer, title, preface (sapo), information box (box) and images, sapo plays the role important. Sapo, also known as a prologue, a quote, a preface, an introduction, a roadmap summarizing the main content of the article. Through the survey, we found that there are three types of sapo that often appear in interview articles: sapo which introduced subject and/or interviewee; sapo which provided the reason, context of the interview, and sapo which stated the biography and achievement of the interviewee. This article focuses on sapo research in interview articles published in Da Nang Newspaper 2017, 2018 and 2019. The article also gives some suggestions on using sapo to improve the quality of interview articles in Da Nang Newspaper, meeting the increasing information needs of readers.
