Abstract
In this article, we tend to support the following two statements:
First, in the present-day time, unidisciplinary research is increasingly revealing obvious limitations and inadequacies in the process of solving social problems that cannot be self-correcting. Changes in the society, especially the process of globalization, has led to new requirements for social studies. Adapting itself to those changes, interdisciplinary research is considered the best mode to meet requirements for development of the time.
Second, social sciences in Vietnam are still relatively lagging behind the development of social sciences in the world. To catch up with that movement trend, the positive and active involvement of interdisciplinary research in the process of researching and training in universities is a tendency and an important requirement for improving the quality of higher education.
