Abstract
Eurycomanone, a key compound in the quassinoid group, is rich in precious bioactivity highly accumulated in the roots of the Eurycoma longifoliaJack plant. There has been successful research into the in vitro multiplication of this plant specieswith a very high coefficient; however, it is necessary to determine the accumulation of eurycomanone in the root of the in vitro plants growing in the wild. This paper presents an investigation into the accumalation of the eurycomanone coumpound in the root samples of the in vitro plants aging from 1,0 to 1,5 years grownin two different areas. The results showed that eurycomanone accumulation in the roots of the in vitro plants increasedover time (from 177,367 - 178,53 µg/g in one-year-old plants up to 213,57 - 225,55 µg/g in plants aged 1,5 years old), and there was no significant difference in the accumulation of this compound between the in vitroplants and seedlingsgrownin the same period in two different places.
