PHILOLOGICAL COMPETENCE – SPECIFIC COMPETENCE IN COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATIONAL ORIENTATION

Abstract
Fundamental and comprehensive reform of national education includes the reaffirmed philosophy of education; accordingly, a curriculum designed for each course helps most students meet the demands of life in the context of international integration. Mentioning students’ needs means thinking about the output effectiveness and the necessary competence acquired after a learning process. Orienting students’ competence becomes the core issue of developing programs including the curriculum of Philology at high school. However, compared with the learner’s competency in other subjects, the student’s competence in Philology has characterized expressions because Philology is a course that has many specific features including literary competence, competence in using mother tongue, general competence, and competence in humanities (metabolic competence).
