Abstract
Vo Hong is one of the familiar figuress of Southern urban literature from 1954 to 1975. In the journey of his artistic creation, the image of his homeland, where he was born, is always one of the indispensable components that formed his unique life outlook. Especially, some of his novels were written based on facts in his own real life which he fictionalized into the artistic world of novels. Among them were “Hoa bươm bướm” (The butterfly flower) and “Người về đầu non” (Back to the mountain), the two novels brimming wirh autobiographical elements, which were written in the Southern cities in Vietnam on the war-torn days.
