Abstract
From the perspective of the quantum field theory, the problem of the nonlinear absorption of a strong electromagnetic wave caused by confined electrons in the cylindrical quantum wire is theoretically examined by means of the quantum kinetic equation for electrons. In the case of electron-acoustic phonon scattering, there has been a record of an analytic expression for the dependence of the nonlinear absorption coefficient of a strong electromagnetic wave caused by confined electrons in cylindrical quantum wires on the parameters of the quamtum wire such as the radius R of the wire and the effective frequency of the potential well. The results show that the nonlinear absorption coefficient depends on the parameters of the quantum wire in a non-linear way. The analytic expression have been numerically calculated and discussed for the GaAs/GaAsAl cylindrical quantum wire.
