PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE SECOND VOLUME OF NGU CHE POETRY BY KING MINH MENH IN DA LAT

Abstract

The second volume of Ngu Che Poetry by King Minh Menh - the King’s second collection of poems, which was printed directly from the printing board, is now preserved in Da Lat archive. However, when we examined this collection, we found that it was in a state of disorder: King Thieu Tri’s poems had been mixed with King Minh Menh’s. Therefore, to ensure the accuracy of the collection, we tried to make a comparison for the purpose of identifying King Minh Menh’ Ngu Che Poetry in terms of content and text features. Specifically, this paper is to present the writing papers that cause confusion between King Minh Menh’s poetry and King Thieu Tri’s; besides, it fills the gaps of the lost poems in the Da Lat collection with the ones from the Institute of Han Nom Studies. All these serve as premises for further research into the contents of the poems in this collection.
