ASSESSMENT TRAINING TO PRE-SERVICE CHEMISTRY TEACHERS IN ‘INTEL-TEACH PROGRAM’

Abstract

Assessment of students’ achievement is a crucial part of learning and teaching procedure, which aims at finding out the extent to which learning objectives have been achieved. Nevertheless, pre-service teachers have not been well equipped with innovative assessment knowledge and skills, leading to ineffectiveness of the assessment phase at high schools. With the purpose of enhancing the efficiency of assessment, Chemistry Department at HCMC University of Education operates a project-based and technology-integrated course, Intel Teach Program. The study was carried out with 38 4^th year chemistry student teachers using qualitative methods. The findings indicate the feasibility and validity of the Program in providing students with assessment skills.
