Abstract
On January 1, 1863, President Lincoln announced the Emancipation proclamation. For researchers, it ended slavery in America. However, after 1863, it was very difficult for Black Americans to live a free life. In terms of economy, they did not own agricultural land and was forced to sign an unequal labour contract. In terms of society, they lived with the threat of being beaten and murdered by the White Americans. Politically, their civil rights were overlooked.
