THE ROLE OF HON TAU BASE FOR THE QUANG DA REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENT (1968-1975)

Abstract

In the years 1968-1975, Hon Tau was the site chosen by the Party Committee of Quang Da to build a base to lead the revolutionary movement in Quang Da. From Hon Tau base, the Party Committee of Quang Da province led the army and the people of Quang Da held the revolutionary movement, in turn defeated the strategy “Vietnamization of war” of the American imperialism and the encroachment activities, “Spill over territory” of the US-puppet regime after the Paris Agreement. Standing at Hon Tau, the Party Committee of Quang Da Province has successfully completed its historic mission - leadingthe army and the people of the province to victory, in the resistance war against the US, rescuing and liberating the city of Da Nang on 29-3-1975, contributing to the liberation of the South and the unification of the country on April 30, 1975. From the practical activities of the Party Committee of the Party at the base of Hon Da has left (passed plenty of valuable lessons to us in national construction and defense in new eara) many valuable lessons for the cause of national construction and defense in the new situation.
